Our annual golf tournament is a major fundraising event that increases the ability of New Hope Community to enhance programs like Hope Farm, the Stables at McCoy Meadow, and Select Connects. Such programs offer the people we serve opportunities to learn new skills and take part in exciting life experiences. Improving lives and outcomes for people drives our mission and events like this offer YOU the opportunity to be a part of positive change. Not a golfer? There are many ways for you to support the people and programs of New Hope Community through the 14th Annual Wallace Berkowitz tournament.

Wallace Berkowitz, born in New York City, made Sullivan County his home in 1960. He was a graduate of the Bronx School of Science and the City College of New York. A US Army Veteran, he served during the Korean War and was part of the Army Audit Agency.

Wally, a CPA, practiced accounting in Monticello and Liberty for 20 years, and was an active stakeholder in civic community organizations. Wally began serving on the New Hope Community Board of Directors in 1989. During his tenure, he served as Board Chair from 1994 to 2004 and as Assistant Secretary from 2005 to 2008.

New Hope Community has flourished as a direct result of his presence, leadership and, most importantly his humanity. Your donation honors Wally’s spirit and enables New Hope Community to offer the most innovative residential, social, educational, and therapeutic programs that empower extraordinary lives and independence.
