Meet the Human Resources Team
Brittany Caruso
Human Resource Administration Support Specialist
I currently serve as the Human Resource Administration Support Specialist at New Hope Community and monitor all Human Resource functions and procedures. I believe our staff are the fundamental element of who New Hope Community is. Without our dedicated staff, we couldn’t provide vital supports to the people we support. I enjoy being a part of bringing those important staff members to New Hope.
I started my career at New Hope in our residential homes as an Assistant House Manager in 2014 and was promoted to House Manager in 2016. I joined the Human Resource Department in 2021. Prior to joining New Hope Community, I worked in the human services field for a local agency.
I have always enjoyed my interactions with the people we support and the relationships I have formed over the years. Watching them grow, develop, and learn is very rewarding.
I earned my Associate degree in Health Science from SUNY Sullivan in Loch Sheldrake, NY. I love time with my family and enjoy gardening.

Mike Fitzpatrick
Safety Specialist
I joined New Hope Community in 2015 as a Quality Assurance Specialist where I was responsible for vehicle safety. In 2022 I was transferred to the position of Safety Coordinator. In this role, I oversee all safety requirements for New Hope, manage all OSHA-related occurrences and interface with our safety insurance vendors and providers including fire, burglary and sprinkler. Working at New Hope allows me to be part of providing services to the people we support.
I came to New Hope after working 30 years as a police sergeant. I served 20 years for the New York City Police Department and 10 years for the Orange County Police Department. I have been honored to receive Cop of the Year and Cop of the Month recognition. Prior to my work with the police force, I was a Zookeeper for the Queens Zoo (which is part of the Bronx Zoo).
I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Security Management from John Jay College. I enjoy hiking and mountain climbing at various locations throughout the Catskills.

Human Resources Generalist
I joined the New Hope Community Human Resources team in January of 2023. As a Human Resources Generalist, I oversee the daily functions of the HR Department, ensuring efficient operations. I enjoy working at New Hope Community because the people we support are part of my day. I’m able to see their progress, hear about their day and participate in their activities.
Prior to joining New Hope Community, I was the DEI Resource Coordinator for the Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development. While there, I was responsible for training and preparing Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients to return to the workforce. I am certified through Cornell University, as a Work Incentive Practitioner, (WIP-C).
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. I received my SHRM-CP certification in 2016.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, cooking, exercising, and pursuing a healthy lifestyle.

Albert White
Recruitment Specialist
I joined the New Hope Community Human Resources Department team in July of 2023. As the Recruitment Specialist, I play an important role in finding suitable applicants, filling open positions, and ensuring New Hope has the staff we need.
Prior to joining the Human Resources team, I began my career at New Hope Community in 2005 as a Direct Support Professional. In 2010 I was promoted to House Manager and in 2016 was promoted to Residential Coordinator. In that role, my focus was to ensure that residential staff were trained and proficient in their job responsibilities to best support the people receiving services.
I admire the dedicated staff at New Hope who demonstrate resilience and professionalism daily. In addition, the ability to enhance the lives of the people we support fuels me to want to do more at New Hope. Those teachable, memorable moments will stay with me forever. As we mold and build the future of New Hope Community, I will take all my experience in residential and recruit the best, brightest, and most compassionate employees.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Fitness, and Wellness from the University of Rhode Island, in Kingston, RI. I love time with my family and enjoy playing sports and coaching sports for the youth.
