Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will work in conjunction with senior nursing staff to support the health care needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) that have chosen New Hope Community for residential and programmatic supports.
You will work as part of a team, creating and implementing medical-based treatments for the people supported in the residence. RNs must be creative thinkers with the ability to make health-related decisions with confidence and speed. Our RNs provide an additional leadership role in the residences, mentoring staff, and individuals to create a harmonious team. Days can be challenging and busy, but also filled with laughter, learning, and special moments. Unlike a hospital setting where patient beds are filled on an ongoing basis, our RNs work in a rewarding field and build strong relationships with the people we support.
Karen Kerendian, RN and Director of Health Services
“While being a nurse, you experience a team that works together to assist people with accomplishing their dreams for the first time. I have a son with developmental disabilities, so to be able to be a part of that is very special to me.”
Karen Valdivia, RN
“To me, nursing represents diversity, especially at New Hope Community. There are so many opportunities to learn and grow that nursing is never boring. You can work with people across their lifespan, from neonates to the elderly.”
Tesha Brady, RN NPE/IP, Nurse Educator
“I became a nurse to safeguard a person’s health, wellness, dignity, privacy, and growth, not only supporting them when they are unwell but also watching them grow in knowledge and capability. I am happy that I’m able to do that here at New Hope Community.”
