QA Auditor
Edition: August 2025

With 14 years of experience here at New Hope Community, Luis has seen many chapters, been involved in many experiences, and touched the lives of many people.

Now our new QA Auditor, read along below to hear more about his journey with the organization, as well as his current interests, goals, and advice for people just starting out!

Q: Can you tell a bit about your journey here at New Hope?

A: I began my career many years ago in 2010 as a DSP at the Schutz Residence at 103 Dee’s Drive, which I really enjoyed. After four years, I moved over to LAC. I realized I was ready to take on more in my career and I transitioned to the QA Auditor earlier this summer.

Q: What’s your favorite part about your job?

A: As a DSP, it was showing the people we support new things and experiences and helping them have an opportunity to live the best possible life. In my new role, so far, I’ve been enjoying getting to know new people in the administrative wing and off campus, and learning something new.

Q: Favorite movie, TV show, or song you’ve had on repeat lately?

A: For a movie, it would have to be A Man Called Otto, and for music, just anything by Giveon.

Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

A: I’d like to visit Indonesia. I’ve travelled to Thailand and loved it, so I would like to explore more of that part of the world.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A: I wouldn’t mind still seeing myself working here. If not, early retirement doesn’t sound too bad either!

Q: What advice would you give someone just starting at New Hope?

A: I’d say to come with an open heart and mind, and to get involved where you can. Getting involved is how I ended up where I am today, and it was worth it.
