For nearly 21 years, Robyn has been a steady, familiar face within the New Hope Community family, bringing adaptability, humor, and a deep commitment to both staff and the people we support.

Known as New Hope’s unofficial “down for anything” person, Robyn is always ready to jump in wherever she’s needed, whether that’s troubleshooting a system, leading a training, or suiting up as our beloved holiday elf each year!

From her start as a relief DSP to her current role in the Training Department, Robyn’s journey reflects the many paths and possibilities within New Hope!

Robyn’s journey with New Hope began shortly after college, when she stepped into a relief DSP role at 4 Hatch Street while figuring out her next steps.

“I kind of got out of college and didn’t know what I wanted to do yet,” she shared. “I came here… and ended up staying.”

What started as a temporary role quickly turned into a meaningful career. Robyn immersed herself in residential life, building relationships and gaining hands-on experience that would shape her path forward. Over the course of five years, she grew through the ranks, from DSP to Senior DSP (now DSP 2), Assistant House Manager, and eventually House Manager.

Each step brought new responsibilities, but also new perspective.

Her time in residential left a lasting impression, especially the everyday moments of growth she witnessed alongside the people we support.

“Seeing someone accomplish something that might seem simple to others, it’s huge,” Robyn said. “We had someone who was afraid of appliances, and over time they learned to prepare meals on their own. Being part of that… those moments always stuck with me.”

After several years in residential, Robyn leaned into new opportunities, expanding her skillset beyond direct support. She stepped into a Therap Administrator role, helping train staff on software systems in collaboration with Sullivan ARC, an experience that bridged her passion for helping people with a growing interest in technology and training. From there, she spent time in IT before ultimately finding her home in the Training Department.

Today, Robyn plays a key role in preparing and supporting staff across the organization.

“I do a little bit of everything,” she said. “I work in orientation, I’m a CPR-certified instructor, and I support a lot of our systems like iCare Manager, Facility Dude, and other training platforms to make sure staff are set up for success.”

No two days look the same. From leading trainings and resetting accounts to collaborating on cross-departmental projects and serving on committees like Safety and Informed Consent, Robyn’s work touches nearly every corner of the organization.

At the heart of it all is her ability to meet people where they are.

“Everyone learns differently,” she explained. “Some people are hands-on, some prefer more of a lecture style. If something isn’t clicking, it’s about trying a different approach so they feel confident in what they’re doing.”

That commitment to adaptability and support continues to shape her impact today, not only in the systems she helps manage, but in the people she empowers.

“Those moments where someone is struggling and we work through it together, and they leave feeling better about their role, that’s what I enjoy most about what I do now.”
